Build Season: Weeks 1, 2 and 3

Since the 5th of January of 2019, when the challenge of the largest robotics competition in the world was released, our team has been working towards our biggest and main goal: to participate successfully in the FIRST Robotics Competition regional in Quebec City, Canada, in April of this year.

Beforehand, FIRST released all the details of this season through a live transmission, in which they made available this season’s game manual, which was released simultaneously to every team in the world. The event is known as kickoff, and if you’re interested in learning more about it, read this post.

Right as we entered the first week of Build Season, all team members read the manual in order to participate in our strategy meeting. This way we could analyze all the possibilities proposed by our team.

A great piece of news is that all of our students who needed visas got them approved!

Of course, behind the effort, there are many other factors that keep us motivated, one of them being the most prestigious award of the competition: the Chairman’s.

We already know that this is a very important award. The question is: why is that?

Winning the Chairman’s means that we best represented the values of FIRST, the non-governmental organization that created the competition.

During this period, our engineering division worked hard on the robot’s prototypes, studied new ideas, learned the rules of the game and prepared the chassis in order to accommodate the robot’s structure, among many other things!

As of now, the chassis is ready for the structure, waiting for the other mechanisms to get into action.

Through here you could see a bit of what the team has been doing in the first weeks of the process of building the robot.

Soon we’ll be back to tell you about our next weeks. Stay tuned and don’t forget to follow our social media and our Youtube channel, on which we are posting weekly videos.

Thank you for reading and see you next time!
